Dear Family and Friends,
We’ve had some trials this year. We were very sad when Calvin’s mom passed away. She left us a legacy of faith and love we will greatly miss. Toward the end of the summer, the bricks around our garage began falling off—which revealed other structural problems with our driveway. So, we get new cement for Christmas this year.
We’ve also had some blessings this year. Our daughter, Brooke, announced the pending arrival of our first grandchild! Our other daughter, Chelsea, began her teaching career with 6 middle school choirs. Our youngest, Trevor, was the drum captain of the high school marching band. We also greatly enjoyed a very nice family reunion in famous Door County, Wisconsin.
Our sons, Stan and Ryan, continue to be gainfully employed and “mostly” out of trouble. Janet is as energetic and busy as ever. She got a paint ball gun for her birthday and is vigilant in shooting the deer that invade our garden. Calvin is finally eligible to retire from government service. Unfortunately, he is not eligible to stop working. While sequestration has limited his business travel, he got to spend several long days working in the yard during the shutdown.
We love and miss you all.
David Calvin, Janet, Stan, Ryan, Brooke & Scott, Chelsea & Jeffrey, and Trevor
